Hey there Audiogames!

I’m really glad to see people are liking my games. Just FYI, I’m not updating the Sequence currently and I’m concentrating my efforts on this game. I’m trying to pull together resources for a larger set of projects and I need to scale for something I think is commercially possible as my first game. Yes, I am “the braillemon developer” lol.

To clarify - the game is not accessible by default because the blind accessibility mode would be very invasive to most players (and also be inaccessible for some kinds of disabled users!). It doesn’t hook up using a typical TTS interface and instead directly talks to the API. It also doesn’t detect if a screenreader is in use, so unfortunately it doesn’t automatically set itself on first play. This game IS in alpha after all. I also fully intend to make a separate program that lets you configure and launch the game that is accessible by default. So, for now, you just have to set the config.

I included the file “config_lv_default.ini” as well which includes default configurations for blind and low vision users to make this easier for now. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

I’ve had health issues that’s been interfering with consistent development of the game, so sometimes my weeks are unproductive. I also make other kinds of content, like videos and writing, so I’m not always developing. But I try to have at least one of my games active at any time.

I know there are some accessibility lapses and I don’t do C++ code myself so I don’t know how to personally update the speech extension used. I don’t think it would be hard I just don’t know how to configure or build the extension properly, and my other developer has been busy with other projects. Letting me know about weird UI issues will really help me round out stuff. I really need feedback from all kinds of users to make sure the interface is as solid as possible.

I hope I can get the next update done in the next week. I’m wrapping up the AI stuff but I’m encountering an annoying bug that I’m trying to weed out. Thanks for reporting the bugs that crash the game in accessibility mode - usually I go through updates every few feature additions to clean up the accessibility in the game, and this really helps with me identifying these problems during these updates.

Thank you so much for the response. And I’m sorry about getting upset last year, although that thread was really awful and I was going through a lot of health stuff at the time too. I do want to continue blind accessible development, I just have issues with the forums sometimes…
