The Mystery Man Reveals Himself!
Hello everyone, this new update contains a lot of new features so I want to go over them:
Roger - The Mystery Man
Roger makes his debut in this release! Roger is a strange old man who gave you your first starter deck for What is Philosophy. His favorite philosopher is Spinoza and he seems to be much more casual about it than your professors…
New Character Sprites
In addition to Roger, all of the characters, including yourself, have gained new character sprites to really bring them out.
Mouse Controls
The mouse is now fully supported, and works fluidly with the keyboard controls. There is also support for Controller input as well but it’s currently a little incomplete. When you move your mouse, the UI changes to allow you to access options usually only accessible from a keyboard. In battle, you can around the field freely to get a better look.
Character customization
You can now add customization to your character. You can select your name, gender and skin tone.
Options and Options and Options…
To make the game as accessible as possible, a HUGE options menu was developed, allowing you to change graphics, sound, controls and more… The game fully supports controller and keyboard binding! If it exists, there’s probably an option for it.
Help Menu
Another accessibility feature. Most of the game has easily accessible Help Menus to make things easier to get a hang of (and maybe help you remember things too!)
Sound Test
You can now listen to any sound effect/music in the game at any time. You can even change the music of battle with this feature! And you should check out the soundtrack because its really good and all composed in LSDJ.
There are still a few features I want to implement before starting card effects. These should take maybe 2 weeks tops:

The ability to go first or second. The game currently supports either, however there’s no means to determine this. I was planning on implementing a coin flip, call heads or tails, and the winner gets to choose.

More sophisticated AI, its kind of a patch right now. Note: The first four battles in Story Mode have the most basic AI, you will notice more sophisticated AI in Free Game.

Give access to the Channeling mechanic. In this release, the ability to add a “favorite philosopher” was temporarily made inaccessible - this is because the favorite philosopher is directly related to the Channeling mechanic. This mechanic allows you to have a single use effect based on the philosopher you choose.

Completing Text-to-Speech support in battle.

A mechanic where you can ask Roger for additional information on cards.
