Effects In Progress
Hey there everyone.
I’m working really hard on card effects but there’s not a lot to show up front for it and I dont want to release a half-built update. Right now I’m working with the psychoanalysis deck. So instead I made a short video to show off some of the effects:
- Freud on activation makes it so that the opponent’s active philosopher is sent to Limbo. If they have an overlay, that becomes the new active philosopher.
- Lacan, when entering the Active zone, flips a coin. If heads, the enemy’s overlay is sent back to the hand.
- Guattari, when sent to Limbo as an overlay, will be able to search any Psychoanalysis type philosopher, or Deleuze, from the deck.
- Reich boosts your offensive power for Dialog, but then is sent to Limbo afterwards.
- Lyotard boosts defensive power during Dialog if his overlays are Mind-element Psychoanalysis.
Obviously more later will be added but I’m trying to get as much diversity of interactions as possible done right now.
I’m also making some rule changes as well to make the game more energetic. Now, when you inflict damage on an opponent, their overlay card is sent to Limbo! No overlay? Their main philosopher gets sent instead!
The video shows off some of the progress I’ve been making. The way I’m writing it, you can mod the cards and it will later support mod packs. That’s right - you can program your own cards!
Also, I am renaming the game Philosophy Fantasy. Some people explained that “What is Philosophy?” is a strange name for a game and I agreed, even though it was a cool reference. Perhaps as a subtitle it’s better. :)
